CTMI 2019: I Conference on Transfer between Mathematics & Industry

From July 22 nd to 24 th, 2019, the I Conference on Transfer between Mathematics & Industry will be held in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain thanks to the collaboration between the Spanish Network for Mathematics & Industry (math-in) and the Technological Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITMATI).

The I Conference on Transfer between Mathematics & Industry aims the promotion and dissemination of the mathematical tools of Statistics & Big Data and MSO (Modelling, Simulation and Optimization) and its industrial applications, the promotion of new research lines oriented to the needs of the industry and the society in general, the renewal of curricula in this field and at all educational levels and the industry-academia collaboration internationalization. This Conference is a satellite meeting of ICIAM 2019 that will be held the previous week at Valencia, Spain.

The Conference will be structured in three days in which successful experiences in the field of the transfer of mathematical knowledge to industry / commerce / institutions from different perspectives will be introduced:

To show the extent in which collaboration with the industry has allowed the opening of new lines of research in the field of mathematics and its reflection in publications of international impact and in the development of doctoral theses.
To provide a forum for industrial technicians to work alongside academic scientists on problems of direct industrial relevance.
To publicize existing infrastructures that have helped to promote the transfer of mathematical knowledge to the productive sector and the special commitment of the international mathematical community to facilitate the knowledge transfer with the industry.
To introduce some singular experiences of training in mathematical techniques along the live for industry technicians. And also, to incorporate in the future curricula for the new generations the detected improvements to match with the industry needs.

This 1st edition of CTMI 2019 will be carried out in collaboration between the Technological Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITMATI) and the Spanish Network for Mathematics & Industry (math-in). The European Service Network of Mathematics for Industry and Innovation (EU-MATHS-IN) is a collaborator of this international event and supports this initiative.
