Today, Manuel Varela Rey, director of the Galician Axencia Innovation (GAIN) and president of Galicia Supercomputing Center (CESGA ) signed with Francisco González García, president of the Consortium Technological Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITMATI ) and Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation the University of Santiago de Compostela, the collaboration agreement between the two entities. The signing ceremony will take place on the premises of CESGA on Avenida de Vigo (Campus Life) in Santiago de Compostela .
With this agreement, CESGA and ITMATI have intended to give greater impetus to the activities of knowledge and technology transfer to both industry and government entities. They want to help them to value innovation capabilities of university research groups through their contribution and response to the needs and demands of business.
The agreement provides for the implementation of projects and transfer programs, research and development, as between the CESGA Foundation and ITMATI, cooperation in personnel training programs either in the business sector, or public joint participation in competitive calls with regional, national or international organization and implementation of joint activities related to the social and business promotion of technology transfer, research and technological development, staff exchange for a limited time and mutual advice on issues related to the activity of the two entities.
