At the workshop, Peregrina Quintela, ITMATI's director and President of the math-in network highlighted the features of these two new transfer structures which purpose is to bring the most advanced mathematical technology to industry and contribute decisively to add value in many sectors of economic activity. In her presentation she also mentioned the call which will open in June for faculty members of the three Galician universities to become members of ITMATI.
Afterwards, the invited companies formulated problems from their field of work and which are likely to be treated by using mathematical, numerical, statistical and operations research methods as well as the development of telecommunications equipment, simulation of cutting processes or materials optimization for geostrategic position in the energy supply chain.
